I designed and built an online shop to sell my digital artwork as art prints and print-on-demand merchandise for Australian customers.
The store uses WooCommerce for e-commerce functionality and Printify to manage production and fulfilment. Products are made only after an order is placed, reducing unnecessary stock, waste, and upfront inventory costs. This print-on-demand model offers a more environmentally considered alternative to mass-producing items that may never sell.
I also connected the website to Google Merchant Center, enabling eligible products to appear in Google Shopping search results without requiring paid Google Ads. This helps build organic product visibility while creating a foundation for future advertising campaigns if needed.
The project gave me hands-on experience with the broader Australian e-commerce ecosystem: configuring a local-only sales and shipping setup, selecting suitable suppliers and shipping options, establishing pricing that accounts for production costs and margins, and creating clear, individual product descriptions. While an online store can look simple from the customer side, building it requires detailed work across product data, fulfilment, search visibility, customer experience, and operational planning.
